Four Medals for WGEW at the Intervin International Wine Awards
Wayne Gretzky Estates Winery turned in another strong competition showing at the Intervin International Wine Awards, collecting medals in four diverse categories. Award winners were as follows:
- 2008 Merlot - Bronze Medal, Merlot
- 2009 Estate Series Riesling - Bronze Medal, Riesling Off Dry
- 2008 Estate Series Pinot Noir - Bronze Medal, Pinot Noir
- 2008 Estate Series Shiraz/Cabernet - Bronze Medal, Red Blend

Special Edition 2008 Father's Day Merlot
Wayne Gretzky Estates is very excited to announce the release of a Special Edition Father's Day 2008 Merlot as a show of appreciation to Dads everywhere. The special edition label is a limited 250 case production and features a unique design and classic photo of Walter and Wayne with releases in the WGEW retail store and select LCBO stores in Ontario. Walter Gretzky will also be making an appearance at the Yonge/Summerhill LCBO store in Toronto for a special tasting of the wine as well as signing bottles of WGEW wine for Father's Day.

Gretzky Wines a Big Hit at VPIWF
Held March 28th through April 3rd, the Vancouver Playhouse International Wine Festival marked its 33rd year as Canada’s largest and most prestigious wine event, featuring 760 wines from 176 wineries representing 15 countries. Wayne Gretzky Estates Winery was honoured to be one of three Ontario wineries featured at the event, with Gretzky wines were offered at all trade and consumer tastings.
